All New Hyundai Santro: What’s new?

Hyundai Santro is not a new name but it was discontinued previously and Hyundai India has introduced it in an all-new avatar recently in October 2018. This new Santro is being now dubbed as one of the best family car options available in the country.

Variants and Price

The all-new 2019 Hyundai Santro is available in India in five variants for the petrol manual version, which are D-Lite Petrol; Era Petrol; Magna Petrol; Sportz Petrol and Asta Petrol. The new Santro petrol automatic and the CNG manual ones receive two variants each.

The new Santro price is around Rs 3.5 lakhs only, precisely rated at Rs 3.89 lakh. The top-range model of Hyundai Santro petrol manual version is rated at Rs 5.45 lakh. The price value of Santro petrol automatic AMT version range from Rs 5.18-5.46 lakh and the CNG version ranges from Rs 5.23-5.64 lakh.

The Engine type and power

2018 Hyundai Santro draws its power from 1.1-litre 1086 cc petrol 4-cylinder engine paired with a 5-speed manual or the latest 5-speed AMT gearbox. It produces a top power of 69 bhp at 5500 rpm and delivers a peak torque of 99 Nm at 4500 rpm. The mileage reads 20.3 km/litre.

There is also a new Hyundai Santro CNG engine accompanied by an 8 kg CNG tank mounted in its boot that offers a maximum of 59 bhp of power and a peak torque rated 84 Nm of torque. The fuel economy is 30.48 km/kg.

Exterior highlights

This new hatchback is a bigger and curvier version of its predecessor. It looks contemporary and features conventional tail lamps, z-styles character lines, dual-toned bumpers, R14 steel wheel plus cover, HMSL, power windows and micro antenna.

Interior highlights

The all-new Hyundai Santro is available in seven colours. Three people can comfortably sit at the back as the new Santro features ample legroom at the back seats. The interior view is upgraded with twin beige and black theme pattern extending also to the seats. 235-litre boot space is good enough for an Indian family.

Smart technology additions

The new Santro features segment-first touchscreen digital audio video system measuring 17.64 cm that can support Apple Carplay and Android Auto. It enjoys mirror link, in-built navigation and supports voice recognition functionalities. Major highlight also includes the rear AC vent.

ABS with EBD, dual airbags, and rear parking sensors are available as standard safety features
